Last week charities across the UK celebrated Volunteers week including The Disabilities Trust. Cards, certificates and flowers were presented to many of the volunteers who make a huge difference to the many services across the country. Irene Sobowale, Chief Executive of The Disabilities Trust said:

I would like to recognise and thank all of the fantastic volunteers at the Disabilities Trust, who give of their time and energy so generously. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our volunteers, we are able to improve the lives of the men, women and children in our care.

Pictured (above) is local volunteer, Janet Wilcox, who gives her time generously to the head office in Burgess Hill.

Helping with administrative tasks Janet is a valued member of the team. Fundraising Manager Hayley Wicker-Bradbury (pictured right) said:

"We rely heavily on Janet each Friday to carry out various jobs; press cuttings, research, data entry and filing are just some of the responsibilities that make her invaluable and we cannot thank her enough."
